What a year 2023! We have experienced a lot – huge successes, beautiful moments, engaging discussions, exciting events, and much more. In 2023, LORENZ Life Sciences Group actively participated in key industry events, providing insights and fostering collaboration. Come with us and embark on a journey through our year.
LORENZ attended several key events of our industry. At the beginning of the year, our CTO Akira Yamaguchi led a session at DIA RSIDM in Bethesda, exploring the evolving realm of submission management. LORENZ provided a conceptual overview of industry trends, pointing toward transformative possibilities.

The DIA Boston featured LORENZ in an engaging forum. Our president Wolfgang Witzel joined industry experts in a panel discussion, tackling future regulatory submissions' opportunities and challenges.
We also had an incredible time at the Global Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs Summit in Brussels, delving into pharmaceutical compliance, AI, global eSubmissions, and legislation. Akira Yamaguchi presented impact of industry trends on submissions and fostered discussions with experts.

Furthermore, our own events once again captivated numerous participants. LORENZ Connect 2023 drew over 400 participants from 39 countries, offering insights into regulatory affairs topics. Sessions covered updates on EU IDMP, PMS developments, eSubmission updates, eCTD 4.0 and practical experiences from industry leaders.

After a 4-year hiatus in North America, LORENZ Converge in Austin marked a remarkable achievement. Distinguished speakers shared insights on cloud adoption, global RIM programs, digital transformation, and collaborative projects like Project PRISM of the FDA. LORENZ Converge 2023 left an indelible mark, equipping attendees with knowledge and connections. Plans for LORENZ Converge 2024 in Berlin were announced, emphasizing continued innovation and collaboration.

As we reflect on the past year, LORENZ Life Sciences Group takes pride in the strides made in advancing regulatory solutions. Join us on a journey through key developments that have shaped our commitment to regulatory excellence.

In May, we continued with our Free Spotlight Webinars, including our new Regulatory Content Management (RCM) System. Our Product Manager, Jakob Schlösinger, shared valuable insights during the free webinar, unveiling the capabilities of our newly available RCM solution. This marked the beginning of a transformative year for our customers, providing enhanced tools for regulatory success.

Building on our vision, LORENZ sees Regulatory Information Management (RIM) as a strategic and integrated approach. We crafted a modular solution that empowers our customers to navigate the entire lifecycle of regulatory information with efficiency and compliance. The seamless integration of capabilities within RIM became a cornerstone for regulatory success throughout the year.

In a groundbreaking collaboration, LORENZ secured a contract with the Singapore Health Sciences Authority (HSA). This consortium will provide an advanced eCTD reviewing solution, streamlining the receipt and review of eCTD dossiers. The initiative is set to play a pivotal role in the development of a regional schema and eCTD specification.

In September 2021, we launched the LORENZ docuBridge UserGroup, creating a collaborative space for users worldwide. Throughout the year, users seized the opportunity to share known issues and workarounds, and engage in discussions on interpreting agency guidelines. LORENZ actively supported this user community by showcasing specific features, introducing new software versions, and providing detailed product information.

LORENZ: Making Strides in Corporate Social Responsibility – A Year of Impactful Initiatives

LORENZ Life Sciences Group proudly embraces a commitment to social responsibility. Let's revisit some heartwarming initiatives that showcase our dedication to making a positive impact.

“One run can change your day, many runs can change your life.” In a spirited display of unity and purpose, 13 members of our LORENZ Team in Germany conquered the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, a 5.6 km run through the vibrant city of Frankfurt. Beyond the physical accomplishment, the proceeds from this event will be directed towards charitable causes, aiming to bring positive change to the lives of many. We are delighted to see our colleagues actively participating and making a difference.

In our NA dependance in Philadelphia, over 20 LORENZ colleagues came together for a Volunteer Event at the industrial kitchen of Caring for Friends. With aprons on and hearts full of compassion, they chopped broccoli, crafted turkey sandwiches, cooked string beans, and prepared meals for those in need. The result: 520 sandwiches and 956 meals, all bound for the plates of the homeless, veterans, elderly individuals living alone, and others facing food insecurity.

In the ever-evolving landscape of compliance and regulations, continuous learning is paramount. Our recent Regulatory Affairs training session with Christa Wirthumer-Hoche, former Chair of the Management Board of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), was a testament to this commitment. Her decades of experience in medicinal product approvals enriched our team, contributing to the elevation of our regulatory expertise.

Frankfurt's Traditional Folk Festival, "Wäldchestag," is not just a city celebration; it's a part of LORENZ's internal culture. Taking a break from our regular work routine, we celebrate our own "Wäldchestag" on the terrace of our Frankfurt headquarters. This annual event allows us to enjoy the workday in a different way, fostering camaraderie and creating cherished memories.

The culmination of the year brought our dedicated team together for LORENZ Planning Week at our Frankfurt headquarters. This week-long event involved strategic discussions, collaborative planning, and global insights shared by our North American colleagues. The agenda was filled with enriching presentations, creating a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation. To cap off the week, our Christmas party was a festive gathering where we reflected on our triumphs, celebrated our collective achievements, and aligned ourselves for the exciting challenges of the upcoming year.
