LORENZ Converge Conference 2023: An unforgettable experience

Posted on October 13, 2023

It has been nearly a month since we reconnected with our esteemed customers and partners in the USA at this year's LORENZ Converge, following a 4-year hiatus. Now, it is the opportune moment to revisit the event and share with you the highlights from our conference. This exceptional gathering not only deepened our understanding but also reignited our dedication to achieving excellence in the field of life sciences regulatory affairs.

In summary, we can say that the conference was nothing short of a remarkable achievement. The fact that it sold out speaks volumes about the dedication and enthusiasm of professionals like you who are committed to innovation and advancement in our industry.

Navigating the Regulatory Future

On September 11-12, 2023, we came together in Austin, Texas, to navigate the evolving landscape of life sciences regulatory affairs. The knowledge shared by our distinguished speakers has left a lasting impact on our approach to business:

  • Dr. Shakthi Kumar, from Amazon Web Services, reminded us of the transformative power of the cloud in regulatory processes. His insights reinforced the significance of adopting cloud-based regulatory platforms for efficient operations and enhanced transparency.
  • In his session "Enhancing Local Affiliate Engagement for Efficient Global RIM Programs”, Steve Gens presented some insightful results of his recent affiliate engagement study (2023) and highlighted LORENZ's leadership role in both eCTD 4.0 innovation as well as customer satisfaction rating.
  • Dorian Tisdale, of Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies, unveiled the challenges and rewards of digital transformation. His presentation emphasized the critical shift towards data-driven decision-making; a mission that resonates deeply in our business environment.
  • Vada A. Perkins, of Bayer Pharmaceuticals, introduced Project PRISM, a collaborative effort that promises to transform regulatory review and submission validation. The collaborative aspect of this project aligns perfectly with our ethos of forging partnerships for mutual success.
  • Dr. Max Nattermann, of Bayer AG, showcased the potential of seamless integration between systems for fulfilling global health authority requirements. His strategic approach resonated with our vision of delivering excellence in regulatory affairs.

Table Tutorials - the place to be

In addition to the main presentations, LORENZ Converge followed the tradition by offering a wide range of table tutorials, resulting in participants being spoiled for choice! The range of topics included product-related sessions such as LORENZ’s Submission Management System and the well-known ‘What’s new in LORENZ docuBridge?’ session, as well as an update on our latest improvement on Regulatory Content Management (RCM, click here for more information). Among many other table tutorials, Ginny Smith and Rachelle Butt (United Therapeutics Corporation) demonstrated how the updated annotation feature in LORENZ docuBridge can streamline the QC process. Allison Steffen gave an update on Grouped Submissions, while Swathi Pandhiti gave insights on simplifying the publication and maintenance of IMPDs. The table tutorial by Hilary Hafeken (Roivant Sciences, Ltd.) was also very well attended, in which she presented her favorite features within LORENZ docuBridge in order to complete publishing tasks faster and more efficiently.

Networking, Connections, and Partnerships

Beyond the informative sessions, LORENZ Converge facilitated networking opportunities that are invaluable in our B2B environment. The connections forged during coffee breaks and late-night discussions are the building blocks of future collaborations that can drive mutual success. The docuBridge userGroup meeting that followed the main conference exemplified the strength of our professional community. We engaged in the exchange of best practices, ideas, and experiences. This forum is where potential business synergies were explored, promising fruitful partnerships.
