Reflecting on LORENZ Converge 2024: A Fantastic Event in Berlin!
Posted on October 9, 2024
Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting LORENZ Converge 2024 in Berlin, where regulatory affairs professionals from around the world came together for two days of knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration. As the successor to both LORENZ userBridge and LORENZlink, Converge represents the best of both events, creating a global platform that bridges perspectives from all over the world.
A Global Gathering of Experts
The event was a huge success, and we were thrilled to see such a diverse group of attendees representing regulatory authorities, life sciences companies, and industry thought leaders. Participants from four continents—Asia, Africa, North America, and Europe—joined the conference, further enhancing the global exchange of knowledge. One of the key objectives of LORENZ Converge is fostering networking, and we saw countless interactions between participants—old acquaintances reconnecting and new partnerships being formed. This exchange of ideas is one of the main reasons we believe events like this are so crucial to the regulatory community.

Insightful Sessions and Key Updates
Throughout the conference, attendees engaged in deep knowledge transfer, learning from top experts about the latest regulatory updates and innovations in the e-regulatory affairs space. Dr. Bernd Misselwitz (Bayer AG) and Tim Powell (Biogen Idec Limited) presented an update on the implementation of eCTD 4.0, offering insights into its future development. This topic was enhanced by a panel discussion with leading experts.
From evolving regulatory requirements to health authority updates and advancements in regulatory IT, our sessions provided invaluable insights into how the industry is progressing and the challenges that lie ahead. Next to many valuable presentations, Dr. Andreas Franken (Pharma Deutschland e.V.) led a discussion on the intersection of eCTD and IDMP, whereas Steve Gens (Gens and Associates) put a focus on how meaningful business metrics and KPIs are essential for measuring performance, setting goals, and driving strategic decisions.
In addition to our numerous presentations, we gathered great feedback of people who attended our popular table tutorials held by experts from inside and outside of LORENZ, diving deeper into specific topics in small groups. In these we showcased our latest product developments, with live demonstrations that allowed attendees to see the future of regulatory affairs technology in action. Anna Kispál and Rainer Schwarz showcased an exploratory prototype of an AI-integrated submission process for eCTD by LORENZ. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re excited about how these innovations will continue to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of regulatory processes worldwide.
Fostering Collaboration and Innovation
One of the core elements of LORENZ Converge is the collaborative atmosphere that allows us to engage with you—our users—and discuss how we can shape the future of regulatory affairs together. Your feedback and ideas are crucial to ensuring that our solutions continue to meet the evolving needs of the industry. These discussions not only inspire us to innovate but also help us understand how we can make your regulatory work easier and more effective.
Finally, we are incredibly proud of the LORENZ family feeling that permeated the event. As hosts, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and where open dialogue thrives. Whether you’re a long-standing client or new to the community, you could feel the sense of unity and shared purpose.
LORENZ Converge 2024 was an extraordinary event, and we’re grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to its success. We look forward to continuing these conversations and working together to shape the future of regulatory affairs. See you next year in Denver, Colorado, USA!
