LORENZ Continues Japanese Expansion

GUILDFORD, UK: LORENZ today demonstrated its growing commitment to the Japanese market through a further agreement with Digital Media Systems Co. Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan. This gives Lorenz' customers a significant increase in local support for the growing global challenges in a market that is gearing up towards the electronic compilation and electronic publishing to CTD/eCTD standards.

Our international and local customers can rely on the same high quality product, support and services in all 3 major regions ñ with availability in local languages and time zones.

This announcement follows the recent visit from the DMS' President and CEO, Hiroji Emoto, to the Lorenz office in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

Wolfgang Witzel, President and CEO, stated ìOur customers rely on us to create more value added relationships such as this, and this demonstrates our continued commitment to our Japanese customer base.

"I was surprised and delighted to encounter both companies that not only have similar concepts and advanced technology developments for the specialized niche markets, but also share a common cultural corporate philosophy," says Hiroji Emoto.

About Digital Media Systems
DMS pioneered the use of DTP systems to create GLP documents in Japan in 1989. It was also the first company to develop and utilize an English newspaper editing system that was used in both the Yomiuri Shinbun and Asahi Shinbun newspapers. DMS has always been involved in the digitization and the creation of electronic counterparts to the "real" world, especially in its relationship to the printed media industry.
